About us and T&C's

So now for the T&C's bit ..... We are a small family run enterprise based in the UK. Our aim is to bring you competitively priced items. As such, to keep our costs down and to thus provide competitive prices to you(!), we are solely internet based. We try to keep small volumes of stock so as we don't need to go away and seek larger business premises to stock mass volumes, which would incur a high cost and would have to be passed on (and let's face it, the tooth fairy won't pay!)

If you are quite happy to spend more of your hard earned money for a rapid response service that is quicker than a speeding bullet, then although we don't want to lose your custom, we would have to advise you to shop elsewhere as we may have to order in some items to make up your total order and thus may not be able to deliver your order straight away. If, like us, you value your hard earned cash and care about spending willy-nilly, then this is probably for you! So please feel free to order from us and we will 100% appreciate your custom (as we are nice like that). We will always try to keep you informed in relation to the progress of your order,   to the best of our ability.  We will endeavour to dispatch orders within 7 business days and quicker if possible!

Payment is by PayPal and secure!!! Remember, you don't need a PayPal account to use PayPal as through here you can pay by debit or credit card. As, at this moment in time, we do not expect to turn over large volumes of money (sadly!), we are not VAT registered and therefore can not issue you with a VAT invoice.

Under The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 , you have a 7 day cooling off period in which you may cancel your order and receive a full refund including the original P& P costs if applicable.  Any return P&P costs are NOT covered and the purchaser will be required to cover these costs at their own expense.  Any items being returned must be returned in an un-used condition, in their original packaging and fit for resale.  This does not effect your statutory consumer rights. 

A Big Fish In The Net will NOT use your details for any purposes other than processing your order, nor will they be passed on to any 3rd party.

A Big Fish in the Net reserves the right to cancel any order, providing a full refund where payment has already been made.

P&P

Having ordered plenty of stuff ourselves mail order, we appreciate that there is no such thing as 'Free P&P' - many quote it but they simply add the costs on to their products to start with - no surprise as businesses need to make money to survive.   We have thought, and thought, and thought even more about the best way for us to charge P&P.   We have set a charge of £3.99 for orders up to £200.  Orders over that will have no P&P charged to you (we think that is fair!).     We will use discretion on each individual order.  If your order is small, we will give you a partial refund after P&P costs have been taken in to account.  So, if you only want to order a few small, light-weight items such as hooks, floats etc., we will not stitch you up!   Please remember, that P&P is not just the cost of the stamp!   There are the other packaging materials as well covered in the costs. If you wish to order from outside of the UK, please contact us letting us know what you would like to order and we will let you know a price for P&P to your country.  Please note that we may not be able to send items to all countries.

All posted items will have either a proof of postage certificate (we get that when we post the items and will retain it) or if the value is higher, recorded or special delivery will be used and will require a signature at your end, so please make sure there will be someone there to sign and smile nicely at Mr. Postie (and if he's lucky, maybe offer him a cuppa!). We use either Royal Mail or courier/carrier services.   

Packaging Materials - please note that we are conscious about the environment and where possible, to do our little bit, we will re-use packaging materials and/or use re-cycled products.  It's not a lot, but a step in the right direction!  Please do not be offended by this - thank you.
